The complete tools, finally

After years of frustrated desire, I finally got my own wooden yarn shift and winder. And I got them at the very best price possible. For the swift I bet on eBay and got one for 25,00 $, instead of the 50$ asked everywhere else. The winder, I got it from Knitpicks for only 19.00 $!

Both sellers where serious and fast so I'm pretty happy with my purchases and I spent all yesterday making pull-thorugh yarn balls! Happily ;)

My husband gave me a swift and winder last year for Mother's Day, and it is one of my favorite toys! I wouldn't dream of asking a shop owner to wind my yarn for me now; it's such a pleasure doing it myself. It also fascinates all of my children's friends. I like to think that I'm helping to create new knitters when I let them give the winder a try.

Have fun with yours!

I never realized they are so affordable. I've always seen them for much more. I would love to get one for my mother. I always get the store to wind it for me or she does it. As a kid we'd have to sit with the wool over our hands as she wound the balls. Have fun!
