While working as hell I noticed this absolutely adorable knitted hat from Hermès Fall/Winter 2008-2009 catwalks. Looks easy to do and at the same time interesting and original. What you think? I will definitely try to make it. Any suggestions on the increase pattern to use as a base for the crown?
Thanks to Anneli we now have the pattern!!
Is it definitely increased, or could it just be a switch to bigger needles? The shape of it is a lot like a cabled hat I made this year (for Hat Attack) which just went up two needle sizes after the bottom rib...
ReplyDeleteThanks Paige! Dont' you have a link to your hat attack pattern?
ReplyDeleteI think I'll try with a basic beanie pattern for increases and decreases
I´m loving this hat too! I wish you find the pattern (and then let me know!) ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Vik, as soon as I figure it out I'll publish it!

This Hermes hat is very lovely...
ReplyDeletei love that hat! However, your link for the pattern doesn't work :(
ReplyDeleteHow come? The link works for me :-(
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm a moron but where are the instructions in english? I only see italian. (help - i love this hat and have to knit it!!!)
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to get from Italian to English. Do the directions exist in English?
ReplyDeleteI don't have the explanation in english yet but I'll ask Anneli, the author, for a translation :)
ReplyDeleteLove those hats. It's like a knitting quilt but still looks simplified enough.
ReplyDeleteAn english pattern would be great!!! Or maybe just doing it as a chart with a brief description in english to make sure we get it.
Dear Libelula, the patters is so easy that translating into english should be very fast!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI just copy/pasted the Italian pattern into Google translate and got a pretty reasonable translation.
ReplyDeleteThat's great!! :D
